Oregon the beautiful!

It is said we should love where we live and I can say with all honesty I do!  Gratitude is a constant for my parent’s adventuresome spirit that took them on the long journey west from Ohio when I was just a babe in my mother’s womb.  Oregon is the only place I have called home and what a place it is, all 98,466 square miles of it! It’s rodeo time!

The 4th of July is here!  It’s our Independence Day (from Great Britain), a Happy Birthday America.  It’s a time for picnics and fireworks, a gathering of friends and family. It’s also time for the rodeo, one of the oldest American traditions going back to the 1700’s when Spain ruled the west.  This was the days of the vaqueros, the original working cowboys known for their skills with a horse and the lariat.
